This strategic plan serves as the living foundation from which Muma will launch into a new era of growth and excellence. The framework of goals, mission and vision will guide its decisions, and the tactics provide a starting point for what is next.

A significant process is underway to strengthen the infrastructure needed to realize the maximum potential from this plan, with faculty development, alternative revenue streams and world-class facilities becoming early priorities for the college. Our Process

The Muma College of Business strategic planning process was a collaborative, inclusive and iterative effort, engaging stakeholders across faculty, staff, students, alumni and representatives from the business community.

The process began with a leadership retreat focused on reflecting on our purpose鈥攐ur 鈥渨hy.鈥 From this, we developed a preliminary Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations and Results (SOAR) document, which served as a conversation starter for imagining the college鈥檚 future.

This document was shared college-wide and discussed during town hall meetings across our three campuses. Feedback from these sessions informed a revised SOAR document, which was further refined through all-staff and all-faculty meetings.

To carry the work forward, we established a Strategic Plan Team (SPT) composed of faculty, staff, students, alumni and members of our Executive Advisory Council. Based on the SOAR framework, the SPT identified four strategic priorities. We then formed planning groups鈥攅ach dedicated to one of the strategic priorities, with an additional group focused on refining the college鈥檚 vision, mission and values. Each group developed targeted strategies and actionable tactics to support the achievement of their assigned goal.

The first full draft of the strategic plan was reviewed by the SPT, then presented at a second round of town hall meetings for broader community feedback. SPT representatives led the discussions in the town halls to ensure transparency and alignment.

Final revisions were made based on this input, culminating in a strategic plan that reflects the collective vision and priorities of the Muma College of Business community.
